Our Process

Our Licensed Building Practitioners work closely with experienced architects and engineers to provide full design-and-build packages. This saves you money in both the design and construction process when you involve a builder in the early stages as it ensures a smooth and effective construction journey from concept to completion.

As Licensed Building Practitioners, we can be an integral part of the design phase at the Resource stage through to the Building Consent stage, ensuring that the design can be built in a cost-effective way with added value engineering. We the team understand the build from a conceptual point-of-view and through to construction, and can save the developer time and money through our specialist construction methodology.

This design-build partnership between NZ Concrete Structures and its nominated subconsultants will streamline the design-build process.

Initial Consultation and Design

Our journey begins with a consultation where we understand your vision, needs, and preferences. We work with you to design a concrete home that meets your requirements and fits seamlessly with your lifestyle. During this phase, we also discuss your budget and provide a rough estimate of costs.

Site Assessment and Preparation

Once the design is finalized, we conduct a thorough site assessment to evaluate soil conditions, topography, and other factors that could influence the construction. Site preparation involves clearing and leveling the land, ensuring a solid foundation for your concrete home.

3

Detailed Planning and Approvals

We prepare detailed architectural and engineering plans, which are then submitted to local councils for building consent. This process ensures that our design complies with New Zealand’s building codes and regulations. We handle all necessary documentation and approvals to keep the project on track.

4

Foundation and Footings

The foundation is crucial for the stability of your concrete home. We lay the concrete footings and foundation walls, ensuring they are properly reinforced and cured. This step forms the base upon which the rest of the home will be built.

5

Concrete Walls and Structure

With the foundation in place, we begin constructing the concrete walls. This involves setting up formwork, placing steel reinforcement, and pouring concrete. The walls are carefully cured and treated to ensure strength and durability.

6

Roofing and External Finishes

Once the walls are set, we move on to installing the roof and any external finishes. This includes applying weather-resistant coatings and installing insulation to ensure your home is well-protected and energy-efficient.

7

Interior Fit-out

The interior fit-out includes installing partitions, plumbing, electrical systems, and any interior finishes such as plastering and painting. We focus on achieving a high-quality finish that aligns with your design preferences and lifestyle needs.

8

Final Inspections and Handover

Before handing over the keys, we conduct a final inspection to ensure everything meets our high standards and complies with New Zealand’s building codes. We address any final touches and ensure you are completely satisfied with the result.

Our commitment doesn’t end at handover. We provide post-construction support to address any concerns or issues that may arise. We stand by our work and ensure your new concrete home continues to meet your expectations.
